Chris has been Devon Doctors’ chief executive since 2002. Devon Doctors has since become one of the highest quality out-of-hours providers in England. Its subsidiaries Devon Health, Devon Dental, and Halton Health provide a range of primary healthcare services including Devon’s out-of-hours dental service, Halton’s out-of-hours GP service, and 8am-8pm health centres in Torbay, Plymouth, Widnes, and Warrington. Chris was also instrumental in setting up Urgent Health UK, a national out-of-hours provider. Chris has previously held senior managerial and director level provider and commissioning roles within the local NHS. He’s committed to NHS values and feels the social enterprise business model is the best way to provide high quality, patient-focused health care.
Mike works as a Teignbridge-based GP and has been involved with Devon Doctors since its inception in 1996, most recently as Medical Director. He’s a member of the Devon Local Medical Committee and has worked with Primary Care Trusts in various areas including contracting, funding and performance monitoring. Mike brings a wide experience of the local NHS, with a clinical and patient-centred interest in services provided by Devon Health.
Kate has worked in health services most of her life. She started out as a nurse in London, progressing to district nursing as quickly as she could. She then worked in Palestine for three years as an educator of health workers. Back in the UK, she went back to district nursing, had a short spell at Plymouth University as a lecturer, and then into the Health Authority. She worked for East Devon PCG/PCT in various roles - health improvement, service improvement, health and social care manager, GP contracts etc.
Nicci manages Bay Health Centre in Torbay, one of our 8am-8pm GP health centres. She joined Devon Health in 2008 on secondment from Torbay Care Trust. Nicci has a background in office administration, and dealing with pharmacy and dental care contracts.
